Cutting Blade Price in Belarus (CIF) - 2022

In March 2022, the average cutting blade import price amounted to $11,550 per ton, dropping by -39.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 when the average import price increased by 52% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $30,207 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Finland ($62,032 per ton), while the price for China ($4,198 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+23.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cutting Blade Price in Belarus (FOB) - 2022

The average cutting blade export price stood at $4,017 per ton in March 2022, reducing by -36% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 187% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $12,889 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +0.5% per month.

Cutting Blade Imports in Belarus

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of knives and cutting blades (for machines or for mechanical appliances), when their volume decreased by -5.3% to 1.2K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 11% against the previous year.

In value terms, cutting blade imports reduced to $16M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 16%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $19M, and then fell in the following year.
