Crude Palm Oil Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022
The average crude palm oil export price stood at $1,321 per ton in February 2022, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 an increase of 9.7% against the previous month. The export price peaked in February 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In February 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Brazil ($1,335 per ton) and Spain ($1,330 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($1,300 per ton) and the Dominican Republic ($1,319 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Crude Palm Oil Price in Colombia (CIF) - 2022
The average crude palm oil import price stood at $751 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -17.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,032 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Ecuador ($810 per ton) and Peru ($809 per ton), while the price for Honduras ($607 per ton) and Brazil ($671 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (-2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Crude Palm Oil Exports in Colombia
After two years of decline, overseas shipments of crude palm oil increased by 22% to 439K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback.
In value terms, crude palm oil exports reduced modestly to $346M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 20% against the previous year.
