Crude Groundnut Oil Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average crude groundnut oil import price stood at $6,020 per ton in July 2023, increasing by 35% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated measured growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, crude groundnut oil import price increased by +18.4% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 39% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($9,614 per ton), while the price for the United States stood at $4,183 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+11.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average crude groundnut oil export price amounted to $8,221 per ton, shrinking by -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 171%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $8,403 per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($19,629 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($2,793 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
