Production By Country
The country with the largest volume of groundnut oil production was China (X tonnes), accounting for X% of total volume. Moreover, groundnut oil production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Nigeria (X tonnes), fivefold. India (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total production with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume in China was relatively modest. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Nigeria (-X% per year) and India (-X% per year).

In 2020, overseas shipments of groundnut oil increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2017 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, groundnut oil exports surged to $X in 2020. Overall, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2018 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
India was the major exporting country with an export of about X tonnes, which reached X% of total exports. Brazil (X tonnes) held an X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Argentina (X%). Nicaragua (X tonnes), the United States (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), Senegal (X tonnes) and Belgium (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.
India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the groundnut oil exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Brazil (+X%), the United States (+X%) and Argentina (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. China and Nicaragua experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Belgium (-X%) and Senegal (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2020, the share of India and Brazil increased by +X and +X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) emerged as the largest groundnut oil supplier worldwide, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Brazil ($X), with an X% share of global exports. It was followed by Argentina, with a X% share.

Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the average groundnut oil export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a modest increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, groundnut oil export price increased by +X% against 2018 indices. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was China ($X per tonne), while Senegal ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+X%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the fourth year in a row, the global market recorded growth in supplies from abroad of groundnut oil, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Global imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, groundnut oil imports surged to $X in 2020. In general, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2014 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
China dominates groundnut oil imports structure, reaching X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2020. Afghanistan (X tonnes) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Italy (X tonnes). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports. Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and France (X tonnes) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2007 to 2020, average annual rates of growth with regard to groundnut oil imports into China stood at +X%. At the same time, Afghanistan (+X%), the Netherlands (+X%), Belgium (+X%) and Hong Kong SAR (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Afghanistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+X p.p.) and Afghanistan (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Belgium, Hong Kong SAR, Italy and France saw its share reduced by -X%, -X%, -X% and -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Global import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, import prices failed to regain momentum.
