Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average concrete reinforcing bar export price amounted to $626 per ton, declining by -4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 4% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $755 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($817 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Concrete Reinforcing Bar Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average concrete reinforcing bar import price stood at $659 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -8.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 26% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $861 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($1,198 per ton), while the price for Iran ($532 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Concrete Reinforcing Bar Exports in Turkey
In 2022, approx. 5.7M tons of concrete reinforcing bars were exported from Turkey; with a decrease of -23% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 26%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 7.4M tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.
In value terms, concrete reinforcing bar exports reduced to $4.2B in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 85%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.7B, and then contracted in the following year.
