Commercial Printing Price in Egypt (FOB) - 2022
The average commercial printing export price stood at $2,906 per ton in 2022, dropping by -2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 84%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,986 per ton in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,932 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($283 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average commercial printing import price stood at $5,669 per ton in 2022, falling by -41.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 1,165%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $9,745 per ton in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($14,988 per ton), while the price for Russia ($4,138 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+338.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Commercial Printing Exports in Egypt
In 2022, shipments abroad of commercial printing (except screen and books) was finally on the rise to reach 15K tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a deep contraction.
