Chlorine Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average chlorine import price amounted to $907 per ton, jumping by 72% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 433% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,140 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($666 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic amounted to $452 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Chlorine Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023

The average chlorine export price stood at $462 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -18.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 81% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $570 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($655 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($87.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Chlorine Imports in Slovakia

In 2022, imports of chlorine into Slovakia fell rapidly to 1.5K tons, declining by -31.8% on the previous year. In general, imports showed a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year.

In value terms, chlorine imports surged to $1.3M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 155% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, chlorine exports skyrocketed to $2.1M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded prominent growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
