In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 74% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $539 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($423 per ton), while the price for the United States ($236 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
