Champagne Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2022

The average champagne import price stood at $43 per litre in 2022, picking up by 21% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($64 per litre), while the price for Germany ($36 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+37.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Champagne Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022

The average champagne export price stood at $45 per litre in 2022, declining by -9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, champagne export price increased by +30.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 71% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $55 per litre in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($80 per litre), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($32 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+65.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Champagne Imports in Croatia

In 2022, the amount of champagne imported into Croatia dropped slightly to 140K litres, waning by -2.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 58%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 159K litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, champagne imports surged to $6.1M in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a mild curtailment.
