Ceramic Tile Price in Pakistan (CIF) - 2023

The average ceramic tile import price stood at $5.4 per square meter in May 2023, declining by -2.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5.5 per square meter in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($8.8 per square meter), while the price for Iran ($4.9 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Ceramic Tile Price in Pakistan (FOB) - 2022

The average ceramic tile export price stood at $8.5 per square meter in 2022, reducing by -39.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, posted moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 232% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $14 per square meter, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($19 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($4.5 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ceramic Tile Imports in Pakistan

In 2022, ceramic tile imports into Pakistan declined to 3.1M square meters, with a decrease of -12.9% on 2021 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The smallest decline of -9.8% was in 2021. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 5.6M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic tile imports reduced remarkably to $25M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a significant curtailment. The smallest decline of -5.2% was in 2021. Imports peaked at $60M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ceramic Tile Exports in Pakistan

In 2022, shipments abroad of ceramic tiles increased by 15% to 12K square meters for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible shrinkage. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 14K square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ceramic tile exports declined markedly to $102K in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 156%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $147K, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
