Canned Vegetable Price in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average canned vegetable import price amounted to $996 per ton, falling by -41.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 18%. The import price peaked at $3,346 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($4,856 per ton), while the price for China ($645 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Canned Vegetable Price in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average canned vegetable export price amounted to $976 per ton, which is down by -43.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 606%. The export price peaked at $1,737 per ton in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($6,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($197 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+44.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Canned Vegetable Imports in Myanmar

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of canned vegetables, when their volume increased by 92% to 684 tons. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, canned vegetable imports expanded sharply to $681K in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a deep contraction.

Canned Vegetable Exports in Myanmar

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of canned vegetables, when their volume increased by 42% to 98 tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a dramatic contraction.

In value terms, canned vegetable exports shrank remarkably to $96K in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a sharp curtailment.
