Canned Vegetable Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
The average canned vegetable import price stood at $1,802 per ton in March 2022, which is down by -18.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2021 an increase of 44% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,669 per ton. From June 2021 to March 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Egypt ($3,232 per ton), while the price for Italy ($1,033 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Canned Vegetable Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
The average canned vegetable export price stood at $1,909 per ton in March 2022, increasing by 15% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a pronounced increase from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, canned vegetable export price decreased by -14.6% against December 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 when the average export price increased by 47% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,236 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($5,901 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Canned Vegetable Imports in Indonesia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of canned vegetables was finally on the rise to reach 15K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild reduction.
In value terms, canned vegetable imports surged to $37M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
