Camel-Back Strips Price in China (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average camel-back strips export price amounted to $2,763 per ton, increasing by 8.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 46% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,347 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($4,350 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($1,678 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+27.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camel-Back Strips Price in China (CIF) - 2022

The average camel-back strips import price stood at $2,621 per ton in 2022, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 26% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,392 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,944 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,893 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+17.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in overseas shipments of camel-back strips for retreading rubber tires, when their volume decreased by -3% to 742 tons. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +46.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 28%.

In value terms, camel-back strips exports declined to $3.1M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +65.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 39%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $3.5M, and then declined in the following year.
