Calcium Carbonate Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average calcium carbonate import price stood at $463 per ton in July 2023, picking up by 2.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 42% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $492 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,924 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($120 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Calcium Carbonate Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022
The average calcium carbonate export price stood at $219 per ton in 2022, reducing by -2% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $370 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($828 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Zealand ($146 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
