The average bovine animals; live import price stood at $763 per unit in May 2023, which is down by -24.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 80% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,619 per unit in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,775 per unit), while the price for Kazakhstan ($349 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
