Blueberry and Cranberry Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023

The average blueberry and cranberry import price stood at $3,747 per ton in October 2023, which is down by -29% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 32% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,629 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Chile ($10,796 per ton), while the price for Canada ($1,067 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Blueberry and Cranberry Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023

The average blueberry and cranberry export price stood at $6,933 per ton in October 2023, increasing by 38% against the previous month. Overall, the export price posted a tangible expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 178% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $8,620 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($7,882 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($3,055 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Blueberry and Cranberry Imports in the United States

In 2022, imports of blueberries and cranberries into the United States rose remarkably to 347K tons, growing by 11% on the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, blueberry and cranberry imports stood at $1.8B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
