Antibiotic Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022

The average antibiotic export price stood at $119,271 per ton in 2021, reducing by -12.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 64%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $178,889 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Panama ($1,108,786 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($15,541 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Panama (+19.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Antibiotic Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022

In September 2022, the average antibiotic import price amounted to $61,282 per ton, increasing by 87% against the previous month. Overall, the import price posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2022 an increase of 122% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $101K per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($252K per ton), while the price for China ($24,150 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+20.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antibiotic Exports in Singapore

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of antibiotics increased by 216% to 5.5K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, antibiotic exports skyrocketed to $344M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Antibiotic imports into Singapore declined markedly to 79 tons in 2022, waning by -74.3% compared with the year before. Overall, imports saw a precipitous contraction. The smallest decline of -7.6% was in 2021.

In value terms, antibiotic imports declined significantly to $11M in 2022. In general, imports faced a sharp reduction. The smallest decline of -11.4% was in 2020.
