Amino-Resin Price in Sri Lanka (CIF) - 2022
The average amino-resin import price stood at $2,695 per ton in 2022, growing by 21% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, amino-resin import price increased by +73.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 89% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,005 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($5,970 per ton), while the price for Oman ($490 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Price in Sri Lanka (FOB) - 2022
The average amino-resin export price stood at $2,414 per ton in 2022, reducing by -55.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 70% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,422 per ton in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($6,744 per ton), while the average price for exports to Maldives ($1,886 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+22.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Imports in Sri Lanka
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms), when their volume decreased by -35.5% to 10K tons. In general, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 11%.
In value terms, amino-resin imports declined sharply to $28M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +23.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 58%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $36M, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
