Amino-Resin Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average amino-resin export price amounted to $2,679 per ton, surging by 2.5% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, amino-resin export price increased by +72.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 68%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,228 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($2,113 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2022
The average amino-resin import price stood at $1,720 per ton in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,671 per ton), while the price for Romania ($783 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Exports in Hungary
In 2022, shipments abroad of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms) decreased by -2.7% to 235K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 7.1% against the previous year.
In value terms, amino-resin exports declined slightly to $631M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 77% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $632M, leveling off in the following year.

Amino-Resin Imports in Hungary

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 105K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, amino-resin imports declined modestly to $159M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.2% against 2020 indices.
