Amino-Resin Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average amino-resin export price amounted to $1,681 per ton, declining by -7.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 2.1% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,206 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($2,435 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($1,361 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Amino-Resin Price in China (CIF) - 2023
The average amino-resin import price stood at $2,505 per ton in September 2023, falling by -5.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a slight reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 16% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,314 per ton. From November 2022 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,417 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($376 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Exports in China
In 2022, the amount of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms) exported from China stood at 1.5M tons, growing by 3.9% against 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +53.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 48% against the previous year.
