Aluminium Wire Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022

The average aluminium wire export price stood at $10,731 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -11.7% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium wire export price increased by +30.2% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 44%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $12,158 per ton in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($23,409 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,029 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 120% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $39,139 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($51,233 per ton), while the price for India ($8,539 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+23.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
