In 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $3,076 per ton, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Israel ($4,027 per ton) and Ukraine ($3,348 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($3,005 per ton) and Uzbekistan ($3,016 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Based on 2022 figures, aluminium wire import price increased by +68.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +2.0% per year.

Aluminium Wire Exports in Kazakhstan

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of aluminium wires decreased by -5.3% to 17K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year.

In value terms, aluminium wire exports rose sharply to $51M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +19.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +70.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 43%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Aluminium Wire Imports in Kazakhstan

In 2022, approx. 6K tons of aluminium wires were imported into Kazakhstan; picking up by 11% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 52% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 14K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aluminium wire imports surged to $19M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment.
