Aluminium Wire Price in Azerbaijan (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average aluminium wire import price amounted to $2,689 per ton, declining by -3.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,537 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,678 per ton), while the price for Iran amounted to $2,640 per ton.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (-0.6%).

In 2022, the average aluminium wire export price amounted to $2,548 per ton, reducing by -11.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 116% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,642 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($4,538 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey stood at $2,512 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+9.5%).
