In December 2022, the average alloy steel powders import price amounted to $3,235 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,728 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($6,429 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($1,865 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
