Global pesticide imports totaled X tonnes in 2016, picking up by X% against the previous year figure. Overall, it indicated a strong growth from 2007 to 2016: the total imports volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, pesticide imports increased by +X% against its level of 2007. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import increased by X% from the previous year level. Global pesticide import peaked in 2016, and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pesticide imports totaled $X in 2016. Overall, it indicated a strong expansion from 2007 to 2016: the total imports value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, pesticide imports decreased by -X% against its level of 2014. Over the period under review, global pesticide imports attained its maximum level of $X in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Pesticide Imports By Country

The imports of the twelve major importers of pesticide, namely Brazil, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, the U.S., Thailand, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the UK, and Viet Nam, represented more than third of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of pesticide imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Australia (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together accounting for X% of global imports.

Brazil (+X% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of pesticide imports, among the main importing countries, over the last X year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Pesticide Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for pesticide amounted to $X per tonne, lowering by -X% against the previous year. Overall, pesticide import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008, when import increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, average pesticide import price reached its maximum level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average pesticide import price failed to regain its strength.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Germany ($X per tonne), while Thailand ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of pesticide import prices was attained by Brazil (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
