Which Country Exports the Most Electric Accumulators in the World?

In 2016, the amount of accumulator exported worldwide stood at 4.6M tonnes, growing by 6% against the previous year figure. Overall, it indicated a remarkable growth from 2007 to 2016: the total exports volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, accumulator exports increased by +67.6% against its level of 2008. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011, when exports increased by 13% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global accumulator exports attained its maximum volume in 2016, and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

In value terms, accumulator exports amounted to $40B in 2016. Overall, it indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2016: the total exports value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, accumulator exports increased by +69.9% against its level of 2009. Global accumulator export peaked in 2016, and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Accumulator Exports By Country

In 2016, South Korea (808K tonnes), followed by Germany (507K tonnes), Spain (319K tonnes), Czech Republic (287K tonnes), Mexico (267K tonnes), Italy (252K tonnes), and Poland (235K tonnes) were the key exporters of accumulator, together constituting 58% of total exports. The following exporters - Viet Nam (174K tonnes), France (172K tonnes), the Netherlands (170K tonnes), Japan (146K tonnes), and United Arab Emirates (134K tonnes) together made up 17% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of accumulator exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Viet Nam (+28.0% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest accumulator markets worldwide were South Korea ($5B), Japan ($4.1B) and Germany ($2.4B), together accounting for 29% of global exports. These countries were followed by Mexico, Viet Nam, Italy, Poland, France, Spain, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further 17%.

Viet Nam (+31.3% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the accumulator exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Accumulator Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for accumulator amounted to $8,708 per tonne, leveling off at the previous year level. In general, accumulator export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008, when it surged by 28% y-o-y. In that year, average accumulator export price reached its maximum level of $11 per kg. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average accumulator export price failed to regain its strength.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Japan ($28 per kg), while Spain ($2,284 per tonne) was among the lowest.
