Which Country Exports the Most Domestic Food Grinders in the World?

In 2016, the amount of food mixer imported worldwide stood at 1.6M tonnes, remaining constant against the previous year figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2007 to 2016- the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013, when imports increased by 6% y-o-y. Global food mixer import peaked of 1.6M tonnes in 2015, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, food mixer imports stood at $11B in 2016. Overall, it indicated a remarkable expansion from 2007 to 2016: the total imports value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, food mixer imports decreased by -2.1% against its level of 2014. Over the period under review, global food mixer imports attained its maximum level of $11B in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Food Mixer Imports By Country

China (601K tonnes) was the main importer of food mixer in the world, reaching 601K tonnes, which was near 38% of total imports in 2016. The U.S. (122K tonnes) occupied a 8% share (based on tonnes) of global food mixer imports, which put it in second place, following Germany (5%), and Czech Republic (5%). The following importers - the UK (39K tonnes), Italy (39K tonnes), Japan (38K tonnes), France (37K tonnes), Russia (32K tonnes), the Netherlands (31K tonnes), Belgium (26K tonnes), and United Arab Emirates (26K tonnes) took approx. 17% of total imports, each.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Czech Republic (+32.3%), the Netherlands (+13.5%), Germany (+7.9%), Belgium (+7.1%), Italy (+5.0%), Japan (+3.0%), the UK (+2.8%), and Russia (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Czech Republic emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +32.3% from 2007-2016. France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, United Arab Emirates (-1.4%), and the U.S. (-2.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2016, the share of the U.S. increased by 2% percentage points, while Germany (-2.6%), and Czech Republic (-4.7%) saw their share reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($1.9B), Germany ($1.1B) and Japan ($762M) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising 34% of global imports.France, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, China, Belgium, Czech Republic, Russia and United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.

China (+20.2% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the food mixer imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Food Mixer Import Prices By Country

The average food mixer import price stood at $7,009 per tonne in 2016, stabilizing at the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a prominent growth from 2007 to 2016: the import price value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, food mixer import price decreased by -2.6% against its level of 2014. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when import increased by 13% from the previous year level. Global food mixer import peaked of $7,193 per tonne in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Japan ($20 per kg), while China ($530 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of food mixer import prices was attained by China (+19.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
