In 2016, the amount of circuit breaker exported worldwide stood at 349K tonnes, moving up by 2% against the previous year level. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011, when it surged by 15% year-to-year. Over the period under review, global circuit breaker exports attained its maximum volume of 394K tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, circuit breaker exports stood at $8.2B in 2016. In general, circuit breaker exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Global circuit breaker export peaked of $9.9B in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Circuit Breaker Exports By Country

In 2016, China (34K tonnes), Germany (32K tonnes), Switzerland (25K tonnes), the U.S. (25K tonnes), Italy (24K tonnes), South Korea (23K tonnes), Mexico (20K tonnes), India (18K tonnes), France (14K tonnes), Sweden (11K tonnes), Turkey (11K tonnes), and Austria (9.1K tonnes) were the main exporters of circuit breaker in the world, creating 70% of total export.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of circuit breaker exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Austria (+19.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest circuit breaker markets worldwide were Germany ($1.6B), Switzerland ($1B) and the U.S. ($763M), together accounting for 41% of global exports.China, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, France, Sweden, India, Turkey and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.

China (+16.7% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the circuit breaker exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Circuit Breaker Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for circuit breaker amounted to $24 per kg, reducing by -2.9% against the previous year. In general, circuit breaker export price continues to indicate a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when export increased by 11% from the previous year level. In that year, average circuit breaker export price attained its maximum level of $30 per kg. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average circuit breaker export price failed to regain its strength.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was Germany ($50 per kg), while Turkey ($9,936 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of circuit breaker export prices was attained by Mexico (+6.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
