Turkeys Embroidery Price Slumps to $9,549 per Ton After 3 Months of Decline
Turkey Embroidery Import Price in December 2022
In December 2022, the embroidery price stood at $9,549 per ton (CIF, Turkey), shrinking by -10.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 105% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $17,102 per ton. From October 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($62,152 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $7,532 per ton.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.6%).
Turkey Embroidery Imports
Embroidery imports into Turkey shrank dramatically to 42 tons in December 2022, falling by -37.9% on the previous month's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 with an increase of 170% m-o-m. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 117 tons in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to December 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, embroidery imports declined rapidly to $399K (IndexBox estimates) in December 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 185% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.1M. From April 2022 to December 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Turkey Embroidery Imports by Country
In December 2022, China (41 tons) was the main embroidery supplier to Turkey, accounting for a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by India (770 kg), with a 1.8% share of total imports.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from China amounted to -6.2%.
In value terms, China ($308K) constituted the largest supplier of embroidery to Turkey, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($48K), with a 12% share of total imports.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at -6.8%.
