In 2017, Mexico (X tonnes) represented the main exporter for papayas, mixed up X% of total exports. Guatemala (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the global exports with a X% share, followed by Brazil (X%).
From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to papaya exports from Mexico stood at +X%. At the same time, Guatemala (+X%) and Brazil (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guatemala emerged as the fastest growing exporter in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. From 2007 to 2017, the share of Brazil, Guatemala and Mexico decreased by -X%, -X% and -X% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Export Prices by Country
The papaya export price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per tonne in 2017, flattening at the previous year. The the papaya export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, an increase of X% y-o-y. The level of export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, the country with the highest export price was Brazil ($X per kg), while Mexico ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was attained by Guatemala (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Papaya Imports
Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean
In 2017, the amount of papayas imported in Latin America and the Caribbean totaled X tonnes, jumping by X% against the previous year. The total imports indicated a remarkable growth from 2007 to 2017: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the papaya imports increased by +X% against 2015 indices.

The following importers - Honduras (X tonnes), Paraguay (X tonnes), Nicaragua (X tonnes), Barbados (X tonnes) and Haiti (X tonnes) together made up X% of total imports.
From 2007 to 2017, average annual rates of growth with regard to papaya imports into El Salvador stood at +X%. At the same time, Aruba (+X%), Honduras (+X%), Nicaragua (+X%), Paraguay (+X%), Uruguay (+X%), Argentina (+X%) and Haiti (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Aruba emerged as the fastest growing importer in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. Barbados experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2007 to 2017, the share of Nicaragua, Paraguay, Uruguay, Honduras, Argentina, Aruba and El Salvador decreased by -X%, -X%, -X%, -X%, -X%, -X% and -X% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, El Salvador ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported papayas in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Argentina ($X), with a X% share of global imports. It was followed by Aruba, with a X% share.
Import Prices by Country
The papaya import price in Latin America and the Caribbean stood at $X per kg in 2017, growing by X% against the previous year. The the papaya import price continues to indicate a mild deduction.
There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2017, the country with the highest import price was Barbados ($X per kg), while Aruba ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
