Italy was the main exporting country with an export of around X pairs, which resulted at X% of total exports. Germany (X pairs) took a X% share (based on tons) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Croatia (X%), Poland (X%) and Romania (X%). The following exporters - Spain (X pairs), Slovakia (X pairs), Slovenia (X pairs), Austria (X pairs), France (X pairs), the Netherlands (X pairs) and Greece (X pairs) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, average annual rates of growth with regard to pantyhose exports from Italy stood at -X%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+X%), Spain (+X%), Slovenia (+X%), Croatia (+X%), Austria (+X%), Romania (+X%) and France (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter in the European Union, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. Greece and Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.

By contrast, Germany (-X%) and Slovakia (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Croatia (+X p.p.), Spain (+X p.p.), Slovenia (+X p.p.), Romania (+X p.p.), the Netherlands (+X p.p.) and Austria (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2007-2018, the share of Slovakia (-X p.p.) and Italy (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the largest pantyhose supplier in the European Union, comprising X% of total pantyhose exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Croatia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a X% share.

In Italy, pantyhose exports declined by an average annual rate of -X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Croatia (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the pantyhose export price in the European Union amounted to $X per thousand pairs, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the pantyhose export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. The level of export price peaked at $X per thousand pairs in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, pantyhose imports reached their maximum at X pairs in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. In 2018, the pantyhose import price in the European Union amounted to $X per thousand pairs, coming down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the pantyhose import price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, the import prices for pantyhose and tights reached their peak level of $X per thousand pairs. From 2015 to 2018, the growth in terms of the import prices for pantyhose and tights remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per thousand pairs), while the UK ($X per thousand pairs) was amongst the lowest.
