Exports in the EU

In 2023, shipments abroad of pantyhose and tights increased by X% to X pairs, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X pairs in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, pantyhose exports amounted to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Italy was the main exporter of pantyhose and tights in the European Union, with the volume of exports accounting for X pairs, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Croatia (X pairs) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Netherlands (X pairs) and Germany (X pairs). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports. Slovakia (X pairs), France (X pairs), Poland (X pairs), Romania (X pairs), the Czech Republic (X pairs), Spain (X pairs) and Belgium (X pairs) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to pantyhose exports from Italy stood at X%. At the same time, the Netherlands (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), Croatia (X%), France (X%) and Belgium (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Spain and Romania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Slovakia (X%), Germany (X%) and Poland (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Croatia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and France increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per pair in 2023, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a mild expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per pair. From 2022 to 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per pair), while the Czech Republic ($X per pair) was amongst the lowest.
