Germany Cranks And Crankshafts Exports
Cranks and crankshafts exports from Germany rose rapidly to 29K tons in June 2023, increasing by 12% against the month before. The total export volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% from June 2022 to June 2023; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 with an increase of 49% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in June 2023.
In value terms, cranks and crankshafts exports expanded sharply to $289M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2023. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the period from June 2022 to June 2023; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 with an increase of 36% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in June 2023.

Exports by Country
Austria (4K tons), Hungary (3.4K tons) and Slovakia (3.1K tons) were the main destinations of cranks and crankshafts exports from Germany, with a combined 36% share of total exports. The United States, France, Sweden and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the biggest increases were in the United States (with a CAGR of +3.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($33M), Austria ($29M) and Hungary ($25M) were the largest markets for cranks and crankshafts exported from Germany worldwide, together comprising 30% of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Austria, with a CAGR of +4.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In June 2023, the cranks and crankshafts price stood at $9,888 per ton (FOB, Germany), dropping by -4.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 19% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $11,085 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($31,335 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($2,883 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
