Cote d'Ivoire experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of tobacco (smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco, snuff). In value terms, tobacco imports contracted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
Imports by Country
Burkina Faso was the key importer of tobacco (smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco, snuff) in Western Africa, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), Senegal (X tons), Mali (X tons) and Mauritania (X tons), together creating a X% share of total imports. Guinea (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Burkina Faso (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Burkina Faso ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported tobacco (smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco, snuff) in Western Africa, comprising X% of total imports.
