New Zealand (X tonnes), Singapore (X tonnes) and Cambodia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of caramel exports from Viet Nam, together comprising X% of total exports. The average caramel export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the caramel export price continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2018 and is expected to retain its growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, caramel imports attained their maximum in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.
