Rice Market Size in Venezuela

In 2020, the Venezuelan rice market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, consumption showed pronounced growth. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. from 2019 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.

Brazil (X tonnes), Guyana (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of rice imports to Venezuela, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by India, which accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in India (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest rice suppliers to Venezuela were Brazil ($X), Guyana ($X) and the U.S. ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. India lagged somewhat behind, comprising a further X terms of the main suppliers, India (+X% per year) saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, import prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was India ($X per tonne), while the price for the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guyana, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
