From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bulgaria stood at +3.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (-22.9% per year) and Moldova (-3.0% per year).

In value terms, Bulgaria ($X) remains the key foreign market for safety fuses, detonating fuses and electric detonators exports from Ukraine, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Estonia ($X), with a 4.8% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Bulgaria stood at +4.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (-17.9% per year) and Moldova (-2.8% per year).

The average fuse and detonator export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 7% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a resilient expansion. Overall, imports recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 93% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, fuse and detonator imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the Czech Republic amounted to +28.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+113.6% per year) and Montenegro (-13.7% per year).

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the largest supplier of safety fuses, detonating fuses and electric detonators to Ukraine, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 9.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the Czech Republic stood at +12.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+68.7% per year) and the United States (+5.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the average fuse and detonator import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 66%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
