Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk exports rose markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports faced a sharp curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) was the main destination for yoghurt and fermented milk exports from Uganda, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, yoghurt and fermented milk exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), fivefold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Democratic Republic of the Congo amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Rwanda (X% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for yoghurt and fermented milk exported from Uganda were Germany ($X), Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X) and Rwanda ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Rwanda (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Yoghurt and Fermented Milk
Imports into Uganda
In 2022, approx. X tons of yoghurt and fermented milk were imported into Uganda; with an increase of X% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Kenya (X tons), China (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of yoghurt and fermented milk imports to Uganda, together comprising X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Kenya ($X) constituted the largest supplier of yoghurt and fermented milk to Uganda, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a X% share.
