Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Kuwait (X kg) was the main destination for anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports from Uganda, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports to Kuwait exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Democratic Republic of the Congo (X kg), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Sudan (X kg), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kuwait was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (X% per year) and South Sudan (X% per year).
In value terms, Kuwait ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports from Uganda, comprising X% of total exports. In 2022, purchases abroad of anise, badian, fennel and coriander was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In 2022, Egypt (X tons) constituted the largest anise, badian, fennel and coriander supplier to Uganda, with a X% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an X% share.

In value terms, the largest anise, badian, fennel and coriander suppliers to Uganda were Egypt ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and India ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Kenya, Pakistan and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
Kenya, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
