In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of pineapple juice (single strength), when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Over the period under review, exports saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, pineapple juice (single strength) exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Canada (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) and Bahamas (X tonnes) were the main destinations of pineapple juice (single strength) exports from the United States, with a combined X% share of total exports. Turks and Caicos Islands, Aruba, Antigua and Barbuda, Mexico, Saint Lucia, Bermuda, the Netherlands, Barbados and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Antigua and Barbuda (+X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for pineapple juice (single strength) exported from the United States were Canada ($X), Bahamas ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Turks and Caicos Islands, Qatar, Aruba, Antigua and Barbuda, Mexico, Saint Lucia, Bermuda, Barbados and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further X terms of the main countries of destination, Antigua and Barbuda, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average pineapple juice (single strength) export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, pineapple juice (single strength) export price decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Barbados (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2021, supplies from abroad of pineapple juice (single strength) increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, pineapple juice (single strength) imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a deep slump. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Costa Rica (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of pineapple juice (single strength) to the United States, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, pineapple juice (single strength) imports from Costa Rica exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Philippines (X tonnes), threefold. Guatemala (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Costa Rica amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Philippines (-X% per year) and Guatemala (+X% per year).
In value terms, Costa Rica ($X) constituted the largest supplier of pineapple juice (single strength) to the United States, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Guatemala ($X), with an X% share of total imports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Costa Rica was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Guatemala (+X% per year) and the Philippines (-X% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average pineapple juice (single strength) import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, picking up by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Honduras ($X per tonne), while the price for the Philippines ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Honduras (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
