Ceramic Sanitary Ware Market Size in Turkey

Exports peaked in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware exports contracted slightly to $X in 2020. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

France (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of ceramic sanitary ware exports from Turkey, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Israel, the U.S., Serbia, Spain, Poland, Morocco, Iraq, Belgium and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Morocco, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for ceramic sanitary ware exported from Turkey were Germany ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, the U.S., Israel, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Morocco, Serbia and Iraq, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Morocco recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average ceramic sanitary ware export price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was the U.S. ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the U.S., while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, purchases abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ceramic sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) were the main suppliers of ceramic sanitary ware imports to Turkey, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in the United Arab Emirates (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
