In value terms, wood pulp exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a noticeable descent. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of wood pulp exports from Spain, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, the UK, China and France, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for wood pulp exported from Spain were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports. The Netherlands, France, China and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (-X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
