Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, soap in bars imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 62%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of soap in bars imports to Spain, together comprising 66% of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Turkey, China, the UK, Colombia, Israel, Portugal, Poland, Belgium and Mexico, which together accounted for a further 42%.
