Pakistan (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while India saw its share reduced by -2.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fresh or chilled pig meat other than cuts or carcases in Southern Asia, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Afghanistan ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Maldives, with a 2.9% share.
In India, imports of fresh or chilled pig meat other than cuts or carcases remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Afghanistan (-2.8% per year) and Maldives (-6.2% per year).
