The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of export peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, refined palm oil exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2020. Total exports indicated temperate growth from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports decreased by -X% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

The volume of import peaked in 2020 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2020, Myanmar (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes) and the Philippines (X tonnes) was the key importer of refined palm oil in South-Eastern Asia, making up X% of total import. Malaysia (X tonnes) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Singapore (X%).
