As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, frozen turkey cut exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a sharp curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 583% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The average frozen turkey cut export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malta ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malta (+23.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Slovakia

In 2022, overseas purchases of frozen cuts of turkey were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen turkey cut imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 30%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of frozen turkey cut imports to Slovakia, with a combined 93% share of total imports.
