Over the period under review, bentonite imports reached their maximum at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bentonite imports totaled $X in 2018. In general, bentonite imports continue to indicate a measured curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, bentonite imports reached their peak figure at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2018, India (X tonnes) constituted the largest bentonite supplier to Singapore, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, bentonite imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tonnes), twofold.
