In 2022, Zimbabwe (X units) represented the key exporter of ploughs for agricultural purposes, generating X% of total exports. South Africa (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Zambia (X%). Mozambique (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Zambia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, Zambia (X units) represented the major importer of ploughs for agricultural purposes, mixing up X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Tanzania (X units), Mozambique (X units), Angola (X units), Zimbabwe (X units), Botswana (X units), South Africa (X units) and Namibia (X units), together achieving a X% share of total imports.

Imports into Zambia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Mozambique (X%), Zimbabwe (X%) and Tanzania (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. In 2022, the import price in SADC amounted to $X per unit, reducing by X% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Zambia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
