The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked in 2023 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In 2023, South Africa (X tons) represented the major importer of kaolin and kaolinic clays, achieving X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Tanzania (X tons), achieving a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Zimbabwe (X tons), Mauritius (X tons), Angola (X tons) and Mozambique (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum in 2023 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($X per ton), while Angola ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
