As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, electrical signalling apparatus imports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Tanzania (X units) and South Africa (X units) represented roughly 57% of total imports in 2022. Angola (X units) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Zambia (8.4%) and Botswana (6.4%). The following importers - Mauritius (X units) and Namibia (X units) - each resulted at a 6.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Mauritius (with a CAGR of +9.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electrical apparatus for sound or visual signalling in SADC, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Tanzania ($X), with a 6.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Angola, with a 5.2% share.
In South Africa, electrical signalling apparatus imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Tanzania (+6.9% per year) and Angola (-14.9% per year).
